Fiddler on the Roof

Distance from the centre of Kingsbridge: 3.1 miles

KATS presents the celebrated and much loved musical, “Fiddler on the Roof” on the 20th to 24th March at Malborough Village Hall 7.30pm each evening plus 2.30pm on Saturday.

The production features a large, enthusiastic and very talented cast. The show is presented by the same creative team that worked together on KATS’ highly acclaimed and award winning production of “Oliver!” in 2015. Hard work is underway in front of and behind the scenes; hopes are high for another success.

It's 1905 in Imperial Russia and Tevye, a poor milkman, his wife Golde and their five daughters strive to make the best of things. The Matchmaker is busy finding husbands for the daughters in the belief that any husband is better than none. The daughters have other ideas! As the old traditions are challenged by new ways of thinking, external forces also combine and we see a proud and resilient community which is forced to adapt.

“Fiddler on the Roof” is a powerful and timeless show with a fabulous score ranging from the rousing opening number “Tradition” to the abandoned “To Life” and the hauntingly beautiful “Sabbath Prayer” and “Sunrise Sunset”. The story is full of warmth, humour and love and is as enduring and relevant in today’s changing world as it has always been.

Marlborough Village Hall has raked seating and plenty of parking. Tickets range from £7 to £14 and demand is expected to be high. Please book via Kingsbridge Information Centre using cash or card.
