Wild Artichokes
Distance from the centre of Kingsbridge: 0.1 milesOverview
Tucked away on a light industrial estate in the middle of Kingsbridge, Wild Artichokes is definitely a dining experience with a difference! Established in 2015 by Chef and author, Jane Baxter and business partner Samantha Miller, Wild Artichokes has become a firm favourite for locals, visitors and foodies.
With five large dining tables that can accommodate eight to ten, guests are seated together, in an intimate space, just feet away from the open plan kitchen where the team are at work preparing a no-choice, set, seasonal menu.
The classic feasting nights are a four course affair with six antipasti starters, a pasta course, main course with either meat or fish (depending on the season) and interesting vegetable dishes to accompany, not forgetting the mouthwatering puddings to finish. All dishes are served to share around the table, and there's always plenty to eat!
The Wild Gals and Guys pride themselves on providing a warm welcome and a relaxed, professional service in a fun and convivial atmosphere, as well as creating memorable dishes generous in variety, ingredients and flavour.
Open weekly for feasting nights, themed dinners and Sunday lunch (usually out of season). Booking in advance is a must; for all dates and details, check www.wildartichokes.co.uk
Location
Coming from Cookworthy Road (driving past Morrisons on your left), take the first right thereafter into Lower Union Road. Walk down Lower Union Road, past the Pay and Display Car Park then 'Two Rooms' on your left until you get to the grey building on the corner on the left (Moyseys). Turn left and walk straight up the lane (be careful of the potholes!) and turn left into a courtyard (you'll see some abandoned cars). Wild Artichokes is situated in the corner of the courtyard on the left. Just follow your nose!
