Come and relax in our self-catering cottages, all set within a private estate in the heart of the South Hams. With pretty gardens and a peaceful conservation valley surrounding the cottages, Dittiscombe Estate is ideal for families and guests with dogs.

We are just 10-minutes by car to Slapton village with two pubs serving great local food, and the unique freshwater lagoon at Slapton Ley which is perfect for birdwatching or a guided nature safari. Five connecting beaches within stunning Start Bay are all dog and family friendly and are a short drive away too.

Discover many outdoor activities in and around the beautiful South Hams coastline, and unique shopping and cultural activities in the nearby towns of Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Dartmouth. The South West Path offers spectacular walks, and majestic Dartmoor makes for an adventurous day out.

Location

Directions from Totnes: take the A381 towards Kingsbridge. Continue through the villages of Harbertonford and Halwell and past the Totnes Cross Filling Station. About 1 mile after this turn left into the lane signposted Slapton and East Allington (the turning is on a sharp right-hand bend in the main road). Go down this road for approximately 3.3 miles then turn right signposted Dittiscombe. After 0.5 miles you will see on the right a sign for the Dittiscombe Equestrian Centre with wooden fencing and a private lane. Turn right here and with the horse stables and cream bungalow on your left continue down this private lane for 0.2 miles and the farmhouse will be found at the bottom by the gravel car park. Please call at the farmhouse for your keys and to be shown into your cottage.

Directions from Slapton village : look for the signpost for Totnes (11 miles) in the centre of the village and with this on your left go past the Queens Arms pub on your left. Continue straight up the hill out of the village to the next signpost at the top of the hill showing Totnes and Halwell (Lower Green signpost) straight on. Continue straight on along this road for 1.6 miles to the Dittiscombe signpost on the left. Take this left turn and after 0.5 miles you will see on the right a sign for the Dittiscombe Equestrian Centre with wooden fencing and a private lane. Turn right here and with the horse stables and cream bungalow on your left continue down this private lane for 0.2 miles and the farmhouse will be found at the bottom by the gravel car park.
