Venus Café East Portlemouth (at the top of the Ferry Steps) has THE BEST views of the Salcombe estuary looking out over the beach. Combined with delicious food from Venus’ kitchens – from artisan pasties, handmade cakes, delicious ice cream to Devon Beef chilli – make Venus at East Portlemouth a perfect stopping point for a morning bacon bap and bean coffee, lunch or a cup of organic tea & Victoria sponge.

Our location looks out over Small’s Cove with its wonderful sandy beach – and a great spot to watch the bustling boat activity. Open 7 days a week 10am to 5pm from Easter to the end of October. The menu caters for those who prefer a plant-based meal. The Venus mission is to be the greenest café and uses home compostable packaging to support the array of sustainable business practices the Company has adopted. Venus has twice won the Queen’s Award for sustainable development – the only hospitality business to ever do so

Unspoilt East Portlemouth has the best of both worlds. Situated a stone's throw from bustling Salcombe, East Portlemouth enjoys the peace and quiet of a small village surrounded by beautiful beaches, rolling Devon fields and the majestic National Trust Coast Path. We are on the sunny side of the valley so our beaches enjoy many more hours of sunshine than the Salcombe side.

We also have a few tables in our garden with AMAZING estuary views. You are welcome to use these when you visit us - space permitting of course. We have an integrated beach shop selling enough to keep children amused for hours including buckets, spades and beach games - everything you need for a great day on the beach.
