40 MILES OF DRAMATIC WALKS

The National Trust cares for over 40 miles of spectacular coastline in the South Hams area. From small wild places where you can get really close to nature to popular beaches with great cafes and watersports.

HISTORY AND MYSTERY

Their accessible pathway at Bolberry means everyone can enjoy sweeping views of the South Devon landscape, even with pushchairs or those less mobile. Starting at the clifftop parking area you'll follow the 1.2 km surfaced path along the coast. The route will take you towards views over Bolt Tail, with its Iron Age cliff fort and lines of upright Bronze Age stones. Look out over Bigbury Bay and Burgh Island, the inspiration for two Agatha Christie mysteries. At the end of the path turn right along Bolberry Down to head back to the car park. WORKING UP AN APPETITE

The Beachhouse cafe at South Milton Sands is a popular hang-out. Situated right on the beach with spectacular views of Thurlestone Rock, they serve fresh seaside food made with the very best ingredients. For those walking the coast paths around East Soar, you can stop by the Walker's Hut at East Soar Outdoor Experience. Situated on a National Trust farm, you can enjoy freshly baked cakes and hot drinks, while the kids explore the play area and farmyard animals.
