11th - 18th August, 2024
11th August - 18th August (10am - 4pm)
The South Hams Arts Forum, with a growing membership now standing at 160, has moved its 'Creative Passions' exhibition to Thurlestone Parish Hall. An eclectic exhibition featuring 14 of its members across a spectrum of original art and contemporary craft.
It will feature South Hams landscapes in oil by Andrew Luscombe, just recently editor's choice in 'The Artist' magazine, peaceful estuaries and coastal watercolours by Eleanor King, Bantham seascapes in Acrylic by Lucy Gunn and mixed media plein-air artist Helen Petit. The semi abstract land and seascapes by photographer Becci Hey conjure up soothing sea breezes. Gavin Middlewood shows arboreal pen and ink studies, and new member graphic artist Aziz Khan, produces highly detailed natural history photo-realism.
With a background in digital illustration, 'nature themes' are much in evident in Tor Allen's paintings, like 'Urban Flight' exhibited at the Wildlife Artist of the Year 2021. Becca White draws inspiration from Devon's hedgerows and fauna for her handprinted textiles, turned into functional pieces for the home, and Steve Hedley produces remarkable, very original wood-turned objects also for the home .
They will have 2 contemporary jewellers on show with Hajah Tetley's very original recycled silver pieces, free-form in style with beads and semi-precious stones, alongside Charlotte Dalrymple-Hay's elegant handmade silver pieces, with surfaces sometimes gently hammered to reflect how light reflects on water.
Liz Mingo will be showing her quirky, sometime humorous glass Mosaic pieces, and ceramicist Cally Gooding brings contemporary art and function together with stunning, decorative pieces for the home and garden.
This exciting diverse show promises something for all tastes, one not to miss this summer! Plenty of parking on site, with teas and coffees served too.
