Cycling in Kingsbridge and South Devon
Cycling is a fantastic way to see South Devon and provides access to some of the area's best natural heritage sites. There are opportunities for traffic-free and off-road cycling, gentle afternoon rides along quieter lanes, and more challenging longer distance routes.
Bring your own or hire a bike for a fun day out and a chance to get fitter while you enjoy those views – but be prepared to get off and push - unless you've got an electric bike of course!
There is an off-road cycle path that runs between Malborough and Salcombe, perfect for a short bike ride with spectacular views. One we are always happy to recommend, begins on the Dartington Estate just outside of Totnes and travels along the River Dart to Sharpham Trust & VIneyard - see the Visit Totnes website for a map and further information. There are also suggested cycle routes following quieter country lanes such as a circular route from East Portlemouth to East Prawle, described by the South Devon AONB and available to download here.
You can also find these routes clearly marked on our Croyde Cycle Maps available to purchase from the Information Centre.
A bike shop located on the southern edge of Dartmoor, stocking a variety of traditional bikes and Bosch ebikes for sale and to hire. Plus a fully equipped workshop with certified mechanics.
We’re here to help you explore this stunning area in a fun, healthy and hassle-free way. E-bikes make pedalling easier so you can go further afield and tackle the rolling hills, enjoy the moorland and explore the coastal trails in a cleaner, greener way.
