Overview

The National Trust owns over 40 miles of stunning coastline in the South Hams area. From small wild places where you can get really close to nature to popular beaches with great cafes and watersports.

For those that enjoy a walk, the Salcombe area has lots of beautiful trails inland and along the South West Coast Path. Download walks from our www.nationaltrust.org.uk/salcombe-to-hope-cove and www.nationaltrust.org.uk/east-portlemouth-to-start-point. Discover hidden sandy coves, rugged cliff tops, bronze and iron age settlements and wartime landmarks. Our new access for all route at Bolberry is great for those with pushchairs or those less mobile www.nationaltrust.org.uk/bolberry-down

Visit our beautiful sandy beaches at South Milton Sands and Mill Bay, East Portlemouth, both ideal for families with safe bathing and great eateries nearby. We work with Singing Paddles to offer canoeing experiences on the Kingsbridge and Salcombe estuary. For the more adventurous you can have a go at kayaking, stand up paddle boarding or windsurfing on the beach at South Milton with Surfin' Sam. The Beachhouse café is a popular hang out for early risers, fish lovers and sundowners.

We have a regular events programme that you can find on our website or our NTSouth Devon Countryside facebook page.
