30th May, 2024
Following the continuing popularity of its free entry ‘Every Folkin’ Tuesday’ nights and the huge success of the ‘All Folkin’ Week’ Beer & Music Festival over Easter, the team at The Old Warehouse in Kingsbridge is bringing even more music to the area with the introduction of the ‘Sunday Sessions’.
On the last Sunday of each month The Old Warehouse will play host to a range of incredible live artists, including the talented South-West based vocalist and accomplished musician Alex Hart, described by BBC Radio 2 presenter Mark Radcliffe as ‘’the Stevie Nicks of Folk’’ who is next up on Sunday 30th June. She will be followed by the energetic Funke and the Two Tone Baby (28th July), who holds the accolade of the biggest ever opening crowd at Devon’s Beautiful Days Festival! With country duo Willow Hill from Nashville (25th August), dual-headliner festival favourites Nick Parker and Samantics (29th September), local bands The Zaffiros & Billionaire Tax Club returning from packed-out gigs in Exeter and Plymouth (27th October) and Americana Music Association UK Awards 2023 winner Hannah White (24th November) the ‘Sunday Sessions’ offer something for everyone! Each of the shows are ticket-only, with doors and taproom open at 7.00pm and finishing by 10.00pm.
Exeter’s singer-songwriting duo Sound of the Sirens launched the new ‘Sunday Sessions’ with a sold-out gig at The Old Warehouse on Sunday 26th May, supported by South-West based singer-songwriter Amber Jade Smith. Local Sound of the Sirens fans from the Kingsbridge area, together with some who had travelled from Exeter and beyond, enjoyed a fantastic evening of music from one of the UK’s finest folk acts plus a great selection of locally sourced drinks, including the newly launched King Bee Honey Pale Ale, from Moonhoney Meadery based at The Old Warehouse.
Sam Jones, Co-founder of The Old Warehouse, commented ‘’We were incredibly fortunate to have the Sound of the Sirens launch our ‘Sunday Sessions’. It was a fantastic evening and we would like to thank everyone that bought a ticket and supported our small, independent venue.’’
Sam continues ‘’We received great feedback from those who attended the first of the ‘Sunday Sessions’ and were delighted that by the following morning we had sold over half of the tickets for the next event! So if you want to see Alex Hart on 30th June at The Old Warehouse buy your ticket now to avoid disappointment!’’
