Merry Christmas and welcome to the start of the 2018 festivities! What better way to start the season that a visit to Kingsbridge Celebrates Christmas on Saturday 1st December?

Bring your hampers and start the day at the Farmers Market, selecting all your festive foodie treats from local producers. As you browse listen to the carol singers perform and keep an eye out for Father Christmas as he arrives in style. Children can visit him in his grotto and receive a gift, all for free thanks to local sponsorship. Adding to the magical atmosphere will be live music and entertainment from the Kingsmen, Carousel, Elfick and many more.

Shops with their brightly lit windows and costumed staff, will be offering one-off promotions. Stalls lining Fore Street will be laden with a wide variety of wonderful gifts and festive treats while the Family Church is hosting the craft fair, the perfect place to find beautiful handmade trinkets and decorations. 

If they haven't made one already, take the children to the Christmas lantern making workshop hosted by Santa's Elves in the Family Church. Follow the lantern procession through the town and end the day on the Town Square where you can witness the Christmas lights switch on and children can dance around at the Christmas Disco!

9am – 2pm  Farmers Market on the Town Square – pick up local produce and goodies to make your Christmas special accompanied by a festive sound of carol singers.
9am – 1pm Christmas stories & crafts in the Kingsbridge Library FREE drop in.
From 10am  Kingsbridge & District Light Railway will be running short trips along the embankment.
10am  Father Christmas arrives in the Town Square in a mystery form of transport.
10 - 11.30am Father Christmas tours the town.
11.30 – 1.30pm & 2 - 3.30pm Visit Father Christmas in his Grotto outside the Methodist Church
All day Recycled Christmas tree competition in the Anchor  Centre. Presentation at 4pm, on display for a week.
9am - 4pm NEW Craft Fair at  the Mill Club
All day Christmas bauble colouring competition at Coasters Coffee Company.
10am – 4pm  Stalls on Fore Street - gifts galore, local food and drink suppliers - perfect for all those Christmas presents and delicious treats to keep you going!
10am – 4pm  Craft Fair in the Kingsbridge Family Church where  local people showcase their handiwork, find lamp shades, candles, jewellery and more!
10am – 3pm  Cookworthy Museum – FREE entry, enjoy the shop’s  Xmas Sale and display of Victorian Christmas Cards!
10am - 5pm Present Maker Exhibition - Art for Christmas - at  Harbour House with a meet the artists day.
10am – 4pm  Methodist Church - Christmas Tree Festival with Christmas Fayre including cakes, cards, craft, tombola, refreshments & lunch.
10 am - 4pm Catholic Church - ‘Cribs from Around the World’.
10 am - 4pm Come and take an Elfie for Kingsbridge Dementia Community - 20 Fore Street
10 am - 2pm Stone carving demonstration at the Tidal Gallery  y artist Pippa Unwin
11am – 3pm  Make a Lantern Workshop. Kingsbridge Family Church (£1 suggested donation per child).
11am - 3pm Mince Pies & Mulled Wine at Activities 115 on Fore St.
11.30 –2.30pm Kingsbridge Community College – St Nick’s Fair: fabulous stalls, Christmas characters, delicious food and fantastic games. Free Shuttle Buses from Kingsbridge Town Square
12.30 & 3.30pm Elfic the Jester performance 
4pm Lantern Procession from Methodist Church 
4.15pm – 5pm  CHRISTMAS DISCO at the town square
4.30pm  Christmas Lights switch-on & lantern judging results
