Thurlestone

Taking its name from the ‘thirled-stone’, an arch-shaped rock formation just off the beach known as South Milton Sands, this charming village is the ideal setting for a family holiday or winter retreat.

Home to Thurlestone Golf Club with its mix of links and cliff-top terrain providing breath-taking views and the four-star Thurlestone Hotel with fine dining restaurant and Voyage Spa.

Just below the Golf Club and a short walk from the Hotel is Leas Foot Sand, a beach perfect for swimming and snorkelling. A little further south is South Milton Sands, cared for by the National Trust and one of the best beaches in the area for dog-walking, stand-up paddleboarding, and rockpooling. You can spend hours at low tide searching the pools for limpets, anemones, shoe crabs pipe fish and spiny star fish. From here you can take a short walk along the Coast Path to Hope Cove.
