A beautiful town situated at the mouth of the River Dart with a nautical charm and strong maritime heritage.

HISTORICAL BEAUTY

Dartmouth is the place for sailing, canoeing and gig racing. On the hills above the harbour sits Britannia Royal Naval College which has been training officers for the navies of the world since the beginning of the 20th century. Visit Dartmouth Castle or catch the steam train to Paignton. Sea Kayak Devon run tours exploring the coast around Dartmouth.

For fantastic views, catch the No.3 bus which takes you along the coastal road from Kingsbridge.

FOOD HEAVEN BY THE SEA

There's a huge variety of food and drink outlets in Dartmouth but the town is renowned for its freshly caught seafood. Don't forget to try fish and chips with a difference at Mitch Tonks' Rockfish restaurant or enjoy an afternoon tea at the Dart Marina Hotel.

You can also eat delicious food and listen to live music as you browse for bargains and unusual wares at the Old Market Square every Friday. Every second Saturday in the month, 9am to 1pm is the Farmers' Market.
