Totnes

This captivating market town with a reputation for having an alternative vibe is nestled in rolling hills on the stunning River Dart.

TIMELESS TOTNES

Totnes is home to a cosmopolitan mix of people. As one of the founders of the Transition Town movement, Totnes attracts attention from people all over the world who are interested in environmental matters and sustainability. Totnes does however retain a strong hold on its heritage. There are many notable buildings and monuments in the town, including the museum. They are all guarded by the classic Norman motte and bailey of Totnes Castle, which has commanding views of the Dart Valley.

There is a main line train station which is the nearest to Kingsbridge and the two towns are linked by a regular bus service.

TOTNES MARKETS

A vibrant and bustling weekly market is held in the Market Square every Friday and Saturday throughout the year, as well as a popular food and craft market that is on the first and third Sunday of the month.
