Modbury traders sponsor new mural by renowned artist John Ashton

Renowned wildlife artist John Ashton, will be painting a mural in Modbury car park on the wall adjoining the Health Centre.  The mural is going to depict moor to sea and the various wildlife that inhabits these areas, such as oystercatchers, barn owls, goldfinches, swifts and curlews.

The mural has been commissioned by the local traders to encourage people to stop in Modbury, to shop, eat and explore the historic market town.

Fundraising is underway with a quiz night on 31 May at Modbury Memorial Hall from 7.30pm.  There will also be a karaoke night at a later date to be announced.

The wall has been cleaned by Squeaky Clean who gave their services free to clean off the algae and an undercoat has been painted by volunteers ready for the mural to be painted in the next few weeks.
